There are 3 main factors that is required by the designer of the conveyor to submit a quotation.
- Produtcs used on the conveyor
This is very importants since not all products fit in a single type of conveyor for instance a conveyor transport raw fish from a boat to the stores will require extra protection to withstand the wear and tear which will be cuased by salt water and also it should be able to be cleaned easily since it will have a stench from raw fish being transporter
- Dimensions of the Conveyor Belt
The length, breadth and inclination of the conveyor is also required to give out quotation.
- Total Weight at any given time on the conveyor
The total weight of weight that would be on the conveyor at any given time is another measurement that would be required to design a conveyor. This value needs be the highest value for instance if a conveyor belt of 10 ft is required to transport cartons and if the weight of a single carton is 1 kg and lengh of 1 feet. The workers will constantly keep loading cartons onto the conveyor, then the maximum cartons at any given time could be 10. So the total weight that the conveyor would have to withstand at max would be 10 x 1kg i.e 10 kg. So the conveyor requires a motor that coule withstand that weight.
